Shivani Sahu from Khajari village is a hardworking girl who decided to buck the trend and join the male-dominated electrical course. After training, she was placed in Snyder Company, Hyderabad, where her salary was ₹ 11,000. However, due to poor health, she left the job and came back to Chhindwara – securing another job at Wire Harness Company Pithampur where her salary was ₹ 10000. Her father used to run a small shop and one day she got the idea to convert that shop into an electrician's shop and start her own small business. She contacted Snyder's company and started selling goods, after which her shop started earning 12 to 15,000 a month. She has been a role model to other girls who wanted to make their career in this field, like Shivani Sahu, Babita Pathye, and Sonam Sahu who are also electrician graduates and are working with the Kirloskar brothers, and Dewas Company.
Akash Kukreja from Chhindwara, faced severe hardships in life, due to which he was demotivated to do anything. When he heard about SEDI it gave him some hope and he enrolled in the Assistant Electrician and Other Home Appliances course. Upon completion he and his father decided to start an electrical business, naming it Akash Electricals. Though there were struggles in investment, registrations, and paying rent, they were still able to make the business work. While his father runs a tea stall and was the only working member, he is glad that now Akash also has his own business and managing to support the family with 25,000 Rs per month.
